A Caminho das Estrelas

A Caminho das Estrelas is a gastronomy project by the regional tourism board. Between September 2026 and March 2027, it travels through the eight sub-regions of the Centre, including the Oeste, and finally ends with the MICHELIN Guide Portugal 2027 gala in Coimbra. In addition, each sub-region hosts a pop-up led by a chef ambassador, and the first one took place in Viseu on 25 October. For the Oeste, the project highlights the place where the vineyard, farming, rural life and the sea meet.
A Caminho das Estrelas é um projeto gastronómico do organismo regional de turismo. Entre setembro de 2026 e março de 2027, percorre as oito sub-regiões do Centro, incluindo o Oeste, e, por fim, termina na Gala do Guia MICHELIN Portugal 2027, em Coimbra. Além disso, cada sub-região recebe um pop-up com um chef embaixador, e o primeiro realizou-se em Viseu, a 25 de outubro. Por fim, para o Oeste, o projeto destaca o lugar onde se cruzam a vinha, a agricultura, a ruralidade e o mar.

On the other hand, MOVE Centro Portugal, The Sports Region, presents the Centre of Portugal as a destination for sport and active nature tourism. The brand was launched in February 2026 and groups the regional offer into seven sports clusters, including Surf and Water Sports. In addition, you can hear the MOVE spot in English on our daytime programmes.
Por outro lado, o MOVE Centro Portugal, The Sports Region, apresenta o Centro de Portugal como destino de desporto e de turismo ativo na natureza. A marca foi lançada em fevereiro de 2026 e reúne a oferta da região em sete áreas desportivas, entre elas o Surf e os Desportos Aquáticos. First of all, the Oeste is one of the eight regions promoted by Turismo Centro de Portugal, and the home of West Portugal Radio. It has twelve municipalities, for example Peniche, with the Supertubos surf break, Nazaré, Óbidos, Caldas da Rainha, Torres Vedras and Alcobaça. Therefore, beaches, surf, castles, monasteries and local flavours are all within reach.
Em primeiro lugar, o Oeste é uma das oito regiões promovidas pelo mesmo organismo e a casa da West Portugal Radio. Tem doze concelhos, por exemplo Peniche, com a onda de Supertubos, a Nazaré, Óbidos, Caldas da Rainha, Torres Vedras e Alcobaça. Por isso, as praias, o surf, os castelos, os mosteiros e os sabores locais estão ao seu alcance.

For heritage, the Oeste has the Rota dos Castelos e Fortalezas, with Peniche Fort and Óbidos Castle, and the Rota dos Mosteiros, with Alcobaça Monastery. Besides that, nature lovers can visit the Berlengas, the Óbidos Lagoon and the Serra de Montejunto, a good place for birdwatching. As for flavours, think of the cavacas of Caldas da Rainha, the bean pastries of Torres Vedras and the convent sweets of Alcobaça.
Em primeiro lugar, quanto ao património, o Oeste tem a Rota dos Castelos e Fortalezas, com o Forte de Peniche e o Castelo de Óbidos, e a Rota dos Mosteiros, com o Mosteiro de Alcobaça. Além disso, os amantes da natureza podem visitar as Berlengas, a Lagoa de Óbidos e a Serra de Montejunto, um bom sítio para observar aves. Por fim, quanto aos sabores, pense nas cavacas das Caldas, nos pastéis de feijão de Torres Vedras e nos doces conventuais de Alcobaça.

For surf, the main spots are Peniche, Santa Cruz and Nazaré, with international competitions, and there are also Baleal, Santa Rita and Foz do Arelho. In addition, the calendar includes Carnival in Torres Vedras and the Christmas Village in Óbidos, and Lisbon is only about 75 km away.
Por outro lado, no surf, os principais pontos são Peniche, Santa Cruz e Nazaré, com provas internacionais, e há ainda o Baleal, Santa Rita e a Foz do Arelho. Além disso, o calendário inclui o Carnaval de Torres Vedras e a Aldeia de Natal em Óbidos, e Lisboa fica a cerca de 75 km.
